Kikas had a quite odd behavior for a cat since he'd act more like a dog than a cat. What I mean is that he would bite instead of scratching people. While Kikas was young, he used to hid behind doors so that he could ambush people's legs has they would pass by. We didn't like this very much specially my mother, who was Kikas favorite victim for these "assaults". I still remember the day of my 6th birthday party. At the end of the day Kikas was sitting down in front of me and in a flash he just jumped and nabbed my neck. I still remember that clearly and it is quite impressive how, under a year old, Kikas had such strength

About Kikas leash, something just like Pavlov's experiment happened. Kikas loved to go outside for a walk, either on the street of Nazareth or in Lisbon's backyards. In Nazareth we had his red leash with which I would take him out for a stroll. We kept his leash in a drawer and sometime after, whenever he would want us to take him for a walk, he would go next to the drawer were we kept his little red leash, because he knew we had to get the leash before we would take him out. However, he knew we had to take the leash out, but putting it on was a completely different thing. Eventually we gave up on making him wear the leash but either me or my mother would be keeping an eye on him

Before being spayed, Kikas had a terrible addiction. He would pee in every single plant that we have. He would put his four paws inside the vases and stir the earth and just do it. After the cirurgie he never did it again.
His castration was possibly one of the most painful he went through. It was done in my house, with local anesthesia and strapped down to a table.

In Lisbon we live in a 1st floor and behind the building there are a series of backyards, one per building. From the dining room window there is a tiny ledge to which we allowed Kikas to go to see the backyards and catch some sun. However there was also a shack that was mid 1st floor, mid ground level. What we didn't expect was Kikas to jump to the shack and go for little strolls has he well pleased. But since it's Kikas we're talking about, he shouldn't be more than 3 months old, every time he went for the stroll there would be fights, since he thought he was lord of all the backyards. In order to jump back up he would stand over the shack and jump for the wall and kick it to get a boost. One day we heard an huge fight. When Kikas returned home he had his ears all busted up. When we took a glimpse at the other cat, Kikas wounds were nothing

Kikas second adventure also happened in Nazaré, more precisely when we were starting our return trip to Lisboa. On that Sunday, before we started to make the arrangements for our departure, I had went with Kikas for a little walk on the street with his red leash. When my mother thought it was enough, she told me to bring him home, which he didn't like very much. We were putting our things in the car and Kikas kept thinking that he wanted to go for another walk but we just kept closing the door preventing him to escape. We had started the journey and my mother had the car's, a Renault 4 which we still have, windows open since it was quite hot that day. We should be doing 60-80 km/h (sorry about that but I don't know how many km is a mile) when good old Kikas decides to simply jump through the window. Luckily the driver that was following saw him and could brake early, otherwise he wouldn't have reached 1 year old, instead of his nearly 17. But there's more to it. He took off in to a bushy area and started to go deeper and deeper. My mother could only stop the car up ahead a bit and the minute she does that my sister jumped out of the car and started running to where we had seen Kikas the last time. Not a minute to soon because when she grabbed him, he was going into a thicket where she couldn't go after him. Even still when she grabbed him he still bit her. Luckily she didn't let go and brought him back to the car. From that day forward, every time we had a car trip with our cats, first Kikas then Kikas and Finho, being Finho a black Persian cat, we never kept any window opened enough so that any of the could pull another one like that.

Now for Kikas true first adventure, one of many I'll never forget. We had gone to Nazaré, a beach, where I had and still have a house, for the weekend. I had gone with my mother, my sister, one of my sister's friends and, of course, Kikas. At that time our house was having a bit of work done so we had to be vercarefulll in order for Kikas not to run away. We had a one door refrigerator, something that many of you do not know what it is. Basically it's a refridgerator where the ice box a little square inside the many unit with a little door. One night my sister and her friend went out to party and somehow my sister's friend hurt herself on the knee and once they've returned home, my sister gave her friend some ice for her to put on her knee. So far nothing of unusual. The following morning Kikas couldn't be found anywhere. We searched all over the house, called him on the street but nothing. My sister kept saying she could hear him far away but we just couldn't find him. We were starting to patronize ourselves that he had ran away. Has my mother was starting to give me my breakfast, she opened the refrigerator's door to get the milk. Has my mother opens the door, we were all stunned has Kikas comes out of the fridge, with a few drops of blood on his fur from a couple of steaks that were in there. I feel that it's not necessary to say how relieved we all were has we saw him. I don't recall him to ever try to pulll another one like that off and probably he survived because the fridge was a bit old back then and not running very efficiently.
I completely forgot. If you speak portuguese, you can access the original blog at http://omeukikas.blogspot.com

Before I start telling Kikas first tale, I think I should describe him. Kikas was a Siamese cat. And like all Siamese cats he was a cat of exceptional personality, and very strong minded has a consequence. When I say very strong minded, I mean that nothing or no one in this world could persuade him to change his mind. Once he got something on his mind, he could only rest after he had fulfilled his desire. On top of the above described qualities, Kikas was gifted with a very sharp Witt. Now ended the description, I will start telling Kikas first tale.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His first adventure, or at least embarrassment that my mother suffered because of Kikas was immediately when she was bringing him home. My mother was carrying him on her lap covered by a coat and he immediately started making a lot of noise with his loud and sharp voice. Once inside the house he sat at the hall and stood there has if he was already king of the world, despite being only one month old. Only later that day did I arrive home to see this little white and brown cute ball sleeping on top of a pillow. I was 5 years old back then but I remember it has it where yesterday.

Introduction
Kikas was a cat of mine who recently past away, on the 9th of February of 2004 to be more precise, with nearly 17 years. During these 16 years, Kikas filled our lives with many joys and many tales. It is in his tribute that I create this blog, with the intention to tell his adventures and tales so that in this way I can perpetuate his memory. I will try to tell his adventures has they happened, but has it may be obvious to you all, it is quite difficult to tell all episodes that happened for nearly 17 years without eventually forgetting one or two. If it occurs to me that I eventually forgot one story I will tell it immediately, thus breaking the chronological order of things.
